Can a Water Heater Leaking from the Bottom Be Repaired?

It depends on the source. A leaking drain valve, fitting, or T&P discharge pipe can often be repaired or replaced. But water seeping from the tank shell itself — from rust or internal corrosion — almost always means the tank is done and needs replacement, not repair.
